It is a shame I can only give this tour company five stars.
I have travelled over the world, to all 7 continents. I write this only to emphasise my comment that this has been the most superbly organised tour I have ever experienced.
Jagath has an incredible eye for detail and monitors your tour from Colombo.
Has traffic caused you to just miss out on that tour to Geoffrey Bawa’s estate in Bentota? Let Jagath make a phone call for you. He even rang us with best wishes on Australia Day.
I have no doubt our driver and Jagath spoke each night about us, and how to improve the itinerary as we made changes in situ.
Ron from Trip.me in Berlin even contacted me personally after a small glitch with the final payment link.
Our car was brand new and extremely comfortable. The boutique accommodation was beautiful and extremely eclectic (jungle camp tent, tea plantation bungalow, eco-beach luxury, surreal movie-set jungle fortress and 18th century restored Dutch mansion to mention a few).
Now for the “gem”. Our driver, Basil. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t have done for us. He was our experienced driver (very important on Sri Lankan roads), information guide, advisor, protector, friend. After a sad incident and knowing my penchant for passionfruit, he asked for some to be freshly picked from a local farm to brighten me up. It was almost as though Basil could read your mind! Or perhaps he has so much experience in this field, his empathy and understanding just smooth potential trouble spots away. It was sad to leave him!
Would I organise travel with this company again? I have a daughter working in Sri Lanka for 2 years and there is still more to see.
